Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is an advanced, minimally invasive hair restoration procedure designed to deliver natural, long-lasting results. During FUE, individual hair follicles are precisely harvested from genetically stable donor areas—typically the back and sides of the scalp—and meticulously transplanted into areas affected by thinning or hair loss, such as the hairline or crown.
This technique allows for controlled harvesting, ensuring the donor area is preserved evenly without over-extraction. When performed by an experienced surgical team, FUE produces fuller, thicker, and natural-appearing hair that is intended to last a lifetime. One of the key advantages of FUE is the absence of visible linear scarring, along with a faster recovery period, making it one of the most widely preferred hair transplant methods worldwide.
The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia. Individual follicular units are extracted using specialised microsurgical instruments, typically ranging from 0.6mm to 1.0mm in diameter. This precision minimises tissue trauma and supports optimal graft survival. Each follicle is then strategically implanted, with careful consideration given to hairline design, angle, direction, and density to ensure results that harmonise naturally with the patient’s existing hair and facial structure.
Achieving a successful, permanent outcome requires exceptional surgical skill, patience, and a meticulous approach. When FUE is executed correctly, the treated area should not require further transplantation in the future.
Patients may experience mild, temporary discomfort before the anaesthetic takes full effect. Advanced numbing techniques are used to desensitise the scalp prior to injections, ensuring maximum comfort throughout the procedure. Once the scalp is fully numb, the hair transplant can be performed comfortably and safely.

No-Shave FUE Hair Transplant
The No-Shave FUE hair transplant is a signature innovation designed for patients who value discretion, minimal downtime, and immediate visual confidence. At Alvi Armani, this advanced technique reflects decades of global expertise in minimally invasive hair restoration and is performed by surgeons trained to the highest international standards.
Unlike conventional FUE procedures that require partial or complete shaving of the donor area, the No-Shave FUE technique allows hair follicles to be extracted directly from untrimmed hair. This means there is no abrupt change in hairstyle, making the procedure ideal for professionals, public-facing individuals, and patients seeking a truly discreet solution.
Alvi Armani’s proprietary microsurgical approach preserves donor area integrity while delivering the same clinical advantages as traditional FUE—no stitches, no staples, no linear scarring, and a faster, more comfortable recovery compared to outdated FUT strip harvesting. A defining benefit of this technique is the Long-Hair Preview, which allows patients to see an immediate visual representation of their transplant results, helping camouflage the healing process from day one.
By combining state-of-the-art extraction technology with world-renowned artistic precision, Alvi Armani ensures that both the process and outcome remain undetectably natural. Suitable for both men and women, No-Shave FUE exemplifies our commitment to innovation, comfort, and consistently superior global results.
Needle-Free Anesthesia represents Alvi Armani’s commitment to patient comfort, innovation, and anxiety-free care. Designed mainly for patients who experience discomfort or apprehension with traditional injections, this advanced anesthesia system delivers effective local numbing without the use of needles.
Utilising high-precision jet-pressure technology, the anesthetic is delivered beneath the skin in milliseconds, creating rapid, even numbness without punctures or injection-related discomfort.
Alvi Armani’s option of needle-free anesthesia reflects a high standard of care, where patient experience is considered as important as clinical outcomes.
The team of doctors will always advise on the best possible delivery mechanism based on each patient’s unique profile.
Alvi Armani Hair Transplants: Global Expertise in Advanced Hair Restoration
Creating a natural undetectable hairline is the most noticeable and important part of a good hair restoration surgery. It’s either a dead giveaway to bad hair transplant or a work of art that sells the restoration as a beautiful, natural thick head of hair. As such, it remains crucial to ensure suitable skill & experience is employed, together with selection of the most suited method per each patient profile. Finally, the housing of the graphs before re-implanting them is a step often overlooked due to its cost and time implications.
- FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction)
A minimally invasive method where individual follicles are extracted and implanted for natural, scar-free results. Ideal for patients who prefer shorter hairstyles and quicker healing.
- DHI (Direct Hair Implantation)
A variation of FUE using implanter pens to place follicles with precise angles and depth. This method offers refined control and can achieve high-density placement in targeted areas, with less downtime, most patients can return to work the very next day.
- Robotic FUE
A robotic system assists in extracting follicles with consistency and precision, reducing human error. Best suited for straight hair types and tech-assisted procedures.
- Sapphire FUE
A form of FUE that uses sapphire blades to create finer, smoother incisions. This can enhance healing and allow for denser, more natural-looking implantation.
- Long-Hair / Unshaven FUE
An FUE method performed without shaving the treated area, offering a discreet option with no visible post-surgery signs. Ideal for smaller sessions or patients seeking privacy.
- Body Hair Transplant (BHT)
Uses follicles from the beard or body when scalp donor supply is limited. This expands available grafts but is recommended only when necessary due to texture differences.
The Maximus FUE technique is an advanced, virtually pain-free hair transplant method inspired by the Vitruvian Man. It emphasizes maximum graft survival, high regrowth and density, and minimal transection rates, combining Swiss medical technology with American standards.
In natural hair growth, follicular units align horizontally or perpendicularly to the hair’s direction. This arrangement, where follicles lie side by side rather than behind one another, results in thicker hair as the hair behind supports it. This random pattern prevents light from shining through the scalp, as it is blocked by the hair behind it.
The key to successful graft placement is matching the angle of the grafts to the natural hair. This is achieved by creating slits at the correct angle, allowing the graft to follow. Unlike vertical slits, which can vary from 90 to 10 degrees, horizontal or lateral slits ensure that grafts grow at the precise angle of the blade’s insertion. This precise angling results in natural-looking hair growth, with the new hair growing in the same orientation as natural hair.
The Maximus technique involves densely packing the patient’s follicles, leading to faster healing times and unrivalled density. Surface-level scabs fall off within days. Although dense packing requires more time and care, the results are worth the effort. The blades used are narrower, typically 0.7mm for single hair follicular grafts and 0.9mm for multi-hair follicular grafts. These measurements are tested under magnification for exact precision, unlike other offices that use 1.5mm to 2.0mm blades for easier and quicker graft placement.
Choosing to undergo a hair transplant is a long-term decision with lifelong consequences. To ensure optimal results, the donor area is thoroughly analysed, checking the number and characteristics of hairs. The number of donor hairs can vary from 4,000 to 9,000 follicular units, influencing the post-treatment appearance in terms of colour, curliness, growth direction, and hair diameter. Additionally, the extent of the area affected by hair loss and potential future hair loss must be assessed. Each patient is unique, with varying age, hair loss intensity, hereditary factors, and other considerations. Therefore, a personalized diagnosis and treatment plan is essential. Accurate determination of donor and recipient areas is a crucial part of the consultation, allowing for a precise assessment of the hair transplant’s potential.
Every patient has unique circumstances and expectations regarding a hair transplant. Some patients may simply want to make their hair loss less noticeable, while others may have different goals. Understanding and addressing these individual expectations is a key part of the treatment process.
Hair transplantation operation success rate, the lifetime of the hair grafts in the external environment and hair retention rate all significantly increased thanks to this method. The retention rate is 98%-99% which is a huge increase compared to the regular FUE method where the retention rate is around 80%-85%
